Idéias Pós Modernas

Antes mesmo de entrar para a universidade, eu tinha como ídolo maior em arquitetura, o Arquiteto Richard Meier ainda sou um grande admirador das suas obras, más na universidade eu tive conhecimento dos Pós Modernistas, Arata Isozaki, Sir James Frazer Stirling e Helmut Jahn. o que me encantava era exatamente o retorno da arquitetura como arte, materiais novos eram mesclados com formas arquitetônicas antigas, deixou a arquitetura o minimalismo das formas modernas, planas e industriais da Bauhaus, e voltou a ser alegre e rebuscada, se contrapondo com as linhas retas e programas predeterminados.

Hoje entendo que arquitetura não é somente a concepção, para que tudo funcione, deve vir embasada no tripé: forma, função e detalhe. Alguns alunos meus, eram exímios desenhistas, faziam formas fantásticas, más quando instigados a colocarem o programa e o detalhamento, eu via a forma fantástica começar a ser demolida. Penso que esse conjunto deve andar junto, para que tenhamos um todo que funcione.

Observando no livro do Helmut Jahn, verificava nos seus desenhos que a concepção já havia ficado para trás, todos os desenhos se referiam a resolução do detalhe.

Ao ser chamado para projetar um Portal, percebi que o portal deveria ter característica Neoclássicas era a expectativa do cliente, logo eu me questionei que a cópia seria apenas um desenho falso. Passei semanas projetando mentalmente como seria a abordagem para o desenvolvimento do projeto. Voltei aos livros e estudei tudo sobre a Arquitetura Grega e o Neoclássico, logo percebi que eu iria propor um projeto onde pudesse mesclar o novo e o antigo, assim nasceu o Portal.

Se o arquiteto é convidado para  fazer um ginásio ou cobrir uma piscina, acho que só uma cobertura tipo galpão industrial não é satisfatória, somos arquitetos e como criadores devemos transformar o entorno de forma harmoniosa e bela. Uma cobertura pode ter os seus encantos, desde que seja tratada com criatividade. Passar anos a fio na universidade fazendo arquitetura, e posteriormente desenvolver trabalhos sem técnica e criatividade, eu penso que a escolha por arquitetura foi uma escolha equivocada.

Some of my students, were excellent designers, made fantastic shapes, bad when instigated to put the program and the detailing, I saw the fantastic shape begin to be demolished. I think this set should go together so that we have a whole that works.

When being called to design a Portal, I realized that the portal should have Neoclassical feature was the expectation of the client, so I wondered that the copy would be just a fake drawing. I spent weeks mentally projecting what the approach to project development would be like. I went back to the books and studied everything about Greek and Neoclassical Architecture, I soon realized that I would propose a project where I could mix the new and the old, so the Portal was born.

If the architect is invited to do a gym or cover a pool, I think that only an industrial shed type roof is not satisfactory, we are architects and as creators we must transform the surroundings in a harmonious and beautiful way. A cover can have its charms as long as it is handled with creativity. Spending years at the university doing architecture, and later developing jobs without technique and creativity, I think choosing for architecture was a wrong choice.
