A História dos Hoteis no Mundo

A história dos hotéis pelo mundo, se deu principalmente devido ao comércio. As rotas comerciais da Antiguidade , nos continentes da Ásia, na Europa e África, com a circulação de comerciantes nos centros urbanos, veio a necessidade de hospedagens para atender os viajantes.

As primeiras hospedagens eram feitas nos Mosteiros e Abadias, isso ainda na Idade Média. Os mosteiros e as abadias, com o surgimento das monarquias, foram substituídos pelos palácios ou instalações militares.

Com a Revolução Industrial e o capitalismo, essa atividade passou a ser tratada como negócio, e teve o seu desenvolvimento no século XIX. Após a segunda grande guerra, os países desenvolvidos ou em desenvolvimento, incluindo os países da Europa Estados Unidos e Canadá, época em que também se melhorou os sistemas de transporte, trens confortáveis, navios de cruzeiro, e advento dos aviões a jato, o turismo passou a fazer parte de uma atividade econômica bastante significativa, transformando as viagens de negócios em viagens de lazer dos novos ricos.

A evolução do setor foi alavancada no século XX, por uma sociedade consumista, principalmente classe média, que passou a utilizar esse serviço massivamente.

A tipologia para as habitações, lazer e entretenimento, evoluíram no decorrer do tempo, até o momento da consolidação do que hoje denominamos de apartamento com banheiro privativo, feito do suíço César Ritz em 1870, posteriormente em 1908, o Hotel Statler Hotel Company introduziu a mesma configuração para as suas habitações.

A hotelaria vem evoluindo através do tempo, e várias formas de hospedagem e facilidades são incorporadas aos diversos empreendimentos pelo mundo, incluindo formas de hospedagem para homens de negócio (os Flats) e acomodações com todas as formas de serviços e lazer (os Resorts).

Pesquisando mais profundamente os números da hotelaria no Brasil, encontrei números não tão significativos quanto o esperado:

Hotéis e Flats Nacionais              509     total de habitações = 82.251

Hotéis e Flats Internacionais        535     total de habitações = 93.633

Os demais hotéis pesquisados são hotéis com variação entre 20 ou mais de 20 quartos, que somados totalizam 345,701 habitações.

Fazendo uma avaliação mais realista, mesmo com a Copa do Mundo e posteriormente as Olimpíadas o resultado não foi o esperado. Nos resta fazer um levantamento dos hotéis construídos nos estados e aferir os números, provavelmente a conclusão não deverá ser satisfatória, para um pais com um grande potencial turístico.

The other hotels surveyed are hotels ranging from 20 or more than 20 rooms, totaling 345,701 rooms.

Making a more realistic assessment, even with the World Cup and later the Olympics the result was not expected. We have to make a survey of the hotels built in the states and check the numbers, probably the conclusion should not be satisfactory, for a country with a great tourism potential.
